Kyiv Drone Strike: A Tragic Reminder of Ukraine’s Ongoing Conflict

Kyiv Drone Strike: A Tragic Reminder of Ukraine's Ongoing Conflict

The recent Russian drone strike on Kyiv has left the city reeling and has become a grim reminder of the ongoing conflict that continues to escalate. As of October 26, 2024, a 25-story residential building in the western part of Kyiv was severely impacted by this attack, resulting in the tragic death of a 15-year-old girl and injuring several others. This incident occurred amidst a broader context of relentless assaults on civilian targets across Ukraine.

Impact of the Attack on Civilians

The drone strike didn’t just stop at the loss of life; it caused extensive damage to multiple apartments on the upper floors of the residential building. Approximately 100 residents had to be evacuated as a result of the destruction. It’s heart-wrenching to witness such devastation, especially as families are uprooted from their homes. The nighttime nature of the attack, which lasted around seven and a half hours, meant that many were caught off guard, living through the fear of air raid sirens blaring throughout the night.

Ukrainian air defenses have been working tirelessly to fend off these strikes. During this particular incident, air defense systems intercepted up to a dozen drones, showcasing the resilience and determination of Ukraine’s military forces. Despite their efforts, the near-daily occurrence of drone attacks has put a strain on their resources and the morale of the residents. The constant alert and anxiety are taking a toll on everyday life, creating an atmosphere filled with uncertainty.

Broader Context of Ongoing Conflict

The drone strike in Kyiv is not an isolated event; it ties into a larger pattern of attacks that have been ravaging Ukraine for some time. Just miles away, in central Ukraine, a missile strike in Dnipro resulted in further loss of life, claiming the lives of several civilians, including a 14-year-old girl. Over 20 others were injured, among them children and teenagers. Such brutal assaults on civilian infrastructure, including thirteen damaged apartment buildings and a significant healthcare facility, highlight the dire situation facing innocent populations caught in the crossfire.

Russian forces continue to execute offensive operations across various regions, although there have not been any confirmed advances recently. The use of a wide array of missile and drone types, including Iskander-M ballistic missiles and Kh-59 cruise missiles, reveals a diverse strategy targeting Ukrainian rear areas. This aggressive military posturing is a stark reminder of the ongoing hostilities that don’t seem to be easing anytime soon.

The efforts of Ukrainian forces to counter these air threats have been substantial, with reports indicating the shooting down of a staggering 44 Russian drones just in recent days. This highlights not only the strength of Ukraine’s defense but also the relentless nature of the offensive from the Russian side. The situation remains tense, and while air defenses are proving effective in intercepting some threats, the risk to civilian lives and property continues to loom large.

Drone Strike on Kyiv Highlights Ongoing Conflict and Civilian Struggles

Drone Strike on Kyiv Highlights Ongoing Conflict and Civilian Struggles

The recent drone attack on Kyiv serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict and its impact on civilian life. On October 25, 2024, the serene city of Kyiv was jolted by the sound of an air raid alert, which preceded a devastating strike on a residential building. This incident is a reflection of the heightened tensions in the region and the challenges faced by both military and civilian entities amidst ongoing warfare.

Details of the Attack

On that fateful evening, a Russian drone targeted a high-rise building in the Solomyanskiy district, situated just west of the city center. This area, typically bustling with life, was hit hard, and chaos ensued as flames engulfed several apartments on the top floors. The swift action of emergency services was crucial, as they rushed to the scene to control the fire and render aid to those trapped or affected by this air raid. Sadly, the attack claimed the life of one individual and left five others injured, highlighting the terrible price of war yet again.

The air raid alert, which echoed through the streets around 9 p.m., issued warnings not only about the approaching drones but also underscored the frequency of such threats, with this being the 15th air attack on Kyiv this month alone. It’s a grim reality that residents now live under, constantly preparing for the possibility of an attack.

The Broader Impact

Even as Kyiv grappled with the immediate aftermath of the drone strike, Russian attacks were reported in other regions, including Donetsk and Kherson. This incident does not exist in a vacuum—as the conflict progresses, civilians across Ukraine find themselves increasingly at risk, illustrating the devastating reach of military actions beyond just the targeted locations.

Ukrainian air defenses displayed their resilience that night, managing to intercept 36 out of 63 drones launched by Russia late on October 24. Many of these were destroyed over Kyiv and Odesa, showcasing the ongoing efforts of Ukrainian forces to protect their citizens. However, the fact that such a strike could still succeed speaks volumes about the challenges they face in safeguarding their skies.

As international winds shift, the situation is further complicated by reports of North Korean troops being deployed to Russian territories. Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed serious concern regarding this escalation, suggesting that these troops might be thrust into combat zones within just days. The implications of such involvement could dramatically alter the conflict dynamics, leaving civilians with even more to fear.

In conclusion, the drone attack on Kyiv on October 25 serves not only as a tragic event for those directly impacted but also as a reflection of a larger, ongoing struggle that threatens peace and stability in the region. As the conflict rages on, the resilience of the Ukrainian people shines through, even in the darkest times, but it is clear that the road ahead is fraught with challenges and dangers.

U.S. Sanctions on Chinese Firms Reflect Growing Geopolitical Tensions Over Ukraine Conflict

U.S. Sanctions on Chinese Firms Reflect Growing Geopolitical Tensions Over Ukraine Conflict

The recent U.S. sanctions placed on Chinese companies have stirred quite the discussion in international relations. The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has taken a significant step by targeting these firms due to their involvement in creating attack drones for Russia, specifically the Garpiya series. This move highlights not only the complexities of the current geopolitical climate but also emphasizes the ongoing tensions surrounding the Ukraine conflict.

The Entities in the Crosshairs

Two Chinese companies, Xiamen Limbach Aircraft Engine Co and Redlepus Vector Industry Shenzhen Co, are at the forefront of these sanctions. Along with them, the sanctions also extend to a Russian entity known as Limited Liability Company Trading House Vector and a Russian individual by the name of Artem Mikhailovich Yamshchikov. The sanctions underscore the U.S.’s strong disapproval of the collaboration between these Chinese companies and Russian defense firms to produce lethal technology, which is then being deployed in a conflict that has already claimed countless lives.

What’s particularly noteworthy about these sanctions is that it marks the first time the U.S. has imposed penalties on Chinese firms for directly producing complete weapons systems with Russian partners. This is a big deal! It reflects a shift in how the U.S. views the role of Chinese companies within the context of global military dynamics. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller pointed out the unprecedented nature of this situation, emphasizing that for the first time, a Chinese company is linked to the manufacturing of a weapon that is actively used in battle.

The Reaction from China

Of course, China isn’t taking these sanctions lying down. They’ve made their position crystal clear, vigorously opposing what they label unilateral sanctions that lack grounding in international law. The Chinese government asserts that it maintains a neutral stance in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and insists that it does not provide lethal weapons to any parties involved. Yet, many Western nations contend that China’s economic and diplomatic support effectively bolsters Russia’s war efforts. This back-and-forth only adds fuel to the already tense relations among these global powers.

Previously, the U.S. had targeted Chinese entities merely for providing components to Russian weapon production, but this new round signifies a more serious escalation. The act of sanctioning companies directly involved in the entire weapons production chain sends a message that the U.S. is serious about disrupting the networks that aid Russia in its military endeavors. This move is part of the broader strategy employed by the U.S. to counteract Russian advancements, particularly in light of the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

In conclusion, these sanctions not only demonstrate the U.S.’s firm stance against collaborations that fuel military aggression but also highlight the complexities of international law and diplomacy. As nations navigate the tumultuous waters of military alliances and conflicts, the repercussions of such actions will undoubtedly shape the global landscape for years to come. So, it’s essential to keep an eye on how this situation unfolds and what it means for international relations moving forward.

Rising Drone Incursions: Romania’s Airspace Under Threat Amid Regional Tensions

Rising Drone Incursions: Romania's Airspace Under Threat Amid Regional Tensions

Recent Drone Incidents in Romania

In a concerning series of events, Romanian radar systems detected two presumed drone signals entering its airspace on October 23, 2024. This incident, which took place over the southeastern regions of Constanta and Tulcea, marks a growing trend, as it’s already the third such occurrence in just a week. Tulcea, notably situated near the border with Ukraine, has become a focal point in discussions about airspace security amidst regional tensions.

Military and Geopolitical Responses

Following the detection of these drones, two F-16 fighter jets were dispatched to investigate. However, despite their presence, the jets were unable to visually identify the drones before the radar signals were lost. This pattern of military engagement reflects a troubling precedent; previous incidents also saw jets responding without successfully locating the drones. With no reported crash sites, it raises questions about what exactly is happening in the skies.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine looms large over these incidents. Reports indicate that Russian forces have been increasingly active in targeting ports along the Danube River and the Black Sea. This has led to fragments of Russian drones landing within Romanian borders multiple times, sparking alarms among NATO members who are wary of potential escalation. Romania’s strategic position, with a lengthy border adjacent to Ukraine, heightens these concerns.

Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu hinted that these drone breaches might not merely be a case of physical incursions. He suggested the possibility of cyber interference, given that the pilot’s inability to visually contact the drones adds an eerie layer to the situation. Are these drones the result of advanced technology or tactical maneuvers designed to spread uncertainty?

The NATO response has been swift, with notifications sent out regarding these incidents. There are now calls for enhanced Integrated Air and Missile Defense systems and a concerted push to bolster air and missile defense capabilities across Europe, especially in Eastern Europe. Countries like Bulgaria, Poland, Latvia, and Croatia have also reported similar happenings, indicating a wider regional impact that NATO can’t afford to overlook.

As investigations progress into these incidents, many are left wondering about the origins and intentions behind these drone breaches. While no concrete evidence has confirmed the drones as Russian technology, the implications of these events strain the already delicate geopolitical landscape. All eyes will be on how Romania and its allies manage this situation as tensions mount, further underscoring the necessity for robust defense measures in the face of uncertainty.

Escalation of Drone Warfare in the Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Impacts on Civilians and Defense Strategies

Escalation of Drone Warfare in the Russia-Ukraine Conflict: Impacts on Civilians and Defense Strategies

Intensifying Drone Warfare in the Russia-Ukraine Conflict

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has recently escalated with a dramatic increase in drone warfare. As of October 22, 2024, Russia has been ramping up its drone attacks, launching a staggering 60 drones targeting various regions across Ukraine. Key areas affected include Sumy, Kherson, and several central, southern, and eastern parts of the country. This surge in drone usage highlights a shift in the tactics being employed in the conflict, and it’s proving to have severe consequences for the civilian population.

Impact on Civilians and Ukrainian Air Defense

Tragically, the uptick in drone strikes has resulted in civilian casualties, with reports indicating that at least three people, including a child, lost their lives in the Sumy region during recent attacks on residential areas. The situation in Kherson has been particularly dire, with drones targeting non-combatants, including pedestrians, vehicles, and emergency services. Such tactics appear aimed at instilling a sense of fear among the local population, as attacks target the most vulnerable members of society.

On a more positive note, Ukrainian air defense forces have shown their capabilities amid the onslaught. In the recent nighttime assault, they successfully neutralized 42 out of the 60 Russian drones launched. This significant success highlights the effectiveness of Ukraine’s defenses, as many remaining drones were either shot down or disrupted by electronic warfare strategies.

Interestingly, the conflict has also seen claims and counterclaims from both sides. Russia’s Ministry of Defence stated they intercepted 18 Ukrainian drones, with downing actions taken in several regions, including Bryansk and Belgorod. However, the veracity of such claims often faces scrutiny, as the fog of war complicates accurate reporting and accountability.

International Dynamics and Drone Technology

International engagement in the conflict is also evolving. In response to the ongoing military aggression, the United States has pledged a hefty $800 million aid package aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s drone capabilities. This includes funding for the production of long-range drones, alongside an additional $400 million in military support. Meanwhile, the UK is providing £2.26 billion in assistance, demonstrating significant Western support for Ukraine amidst these developments.

Finally, it’s worth noting the technological hurdles that come with drone warfare. The small sizes and high speeds of many Russian drones pose significant challenges for Ukrainian air defenses, as they often operate on frequencies that evade detection. This makes intercepting them increasingly difficult for Ukrainian forces, underscoring the need for advanced technological solutions to counter the evolving threat.

As the conflict drags on, the situation remains fluid, and the implications for civilians continue to escalate. Both sides are adapting to the realities of modern warfare, and the continued deployment of drones will likely play a pivotal role in shaping the future of this conflict.

Examining the Potential Lifting of Ukraine’s Drone Export Ban: Balancing Military Needs and Economic Growth

Examining the Potential Lifting of Ukraine's Drone Export Ban: Balancing Military Needs and Economic Growth

Ukraine has been in a challenging position since the Russian invasion in 2022. A significant step taken to secure its military assets was the implementation of an export ban on military goods, including drones. While this move aimed to ensure that the Ukrainian armed forces received the necessary equipment to defend their territory, it’s become increasingly apparent that this ban may no longer be sustainable.

Understanding the Export Ban’s Impact

The export ban, while initially beneficial, has created some complications for local drone manufacturers. Companies like Piranha Tech and Ukrspecsystems have experienced rapid growth, enhancing their capabilities significantly. However, they now face a dilemma—these businesses have scaled up beyond what state procurement can accommodate, leaving them with a lack of orders. As a result, they find themselves at a crossroads, seeking to balance their capabilities with current market demands.

One of the main arguments for lifting the export ban lies in the financial benefits that could follow. Estimates suggest that the Ukrainian drone manufacturing sector could generate up to $20 billion in revenue if exports were allowed. This influx of cash could lead to substantial investments in research and development, sustaining the industry while also empowering local companies to innovate and expand their offerings. It’s a win-win for both the economy and the defense sector.

The Broader Picture and Regulatory Considerations

There is a palpable buzz in the air about lifting the export ban, especially given the strong international demand for Ukrainian drones. The performance of these drones in the ongoing conflict with Russia has garnered attention, particularly from NATO countries that are wary of acquiring technology from China. This creates a golden opportunity for Ukraine to step up and meet the demand while bolstering its economy.

However, this transition isn’t as simple as flipping a switch. If the export ban is lifted, Ukraine will need to focus on establishing a centralized and transparent regulatory mechanism to oversee these sales. The top priority must remain the needs of the Ukrainian military, ensuring that any profits derived from exports do not compromise internal security or operational capabilities.

Beyond just lifting the ban, discussions are being held within government circles and parliamentary subcommittees to assess the associated risks and benefits. The involvement of both government and industry stakeholders will be crucial in navigating this complex terrain. Proposals are already bubbling up, such as maintaining state contracts as a priority while allowing companies to sell earlier versions of their drones. Such measures aim to strike a balance between immediate financial gain and long-term security needs.

As Ukraine continues to navigate this pivotal moment, the prospect of lifting the drone export ban could redefine the landscape of both its defense sector and economic viability. It’s a time for consideration, collaboration, and careful planning to ensure that the path forward benefits the military and the burgeoning drone industry alike.

Top positive review

IntroThe DJI Air 3 is the drone you are going to love if you wish that you could have a Mini 3 PRO that had better image quality, full obstacle avoidance, waypoints, more zooming options and even better battery life.DesignThe Air 3s design is heavily influenced by the Mavic 3 line and I feel like this is a good thing since It gives the perception that you own one of the Mavic series. You’ve also got the similar stocks like the Mavic 3 series which are both good and annoying at the same time. Good for the times you plan to land your drone on a surface if you aren’t hand catching it and annoying because you have to remember to pull these arms out first or else you have to do it all over again. The materials DJI used here lend themselves to that premium feeling you’ll get when you pick this drone up. The casing feels very solid with no hollow feeling around it and makes this UAV feel very premium. One change that I found to be interesting is the fact that the gimbal doesn’t seem to lock in place once your power the drone off. This isn’t a huge deal but can be annoying since the gimbal cover for the Air 3 can be sort of hard to put on because the gimbal doesn’t stay in place. The Air 3 also has a good weight to it which adds to its premium perception and also bodes well for wind resistance.I personally don’t like the placement of the charging port and memory card slot being at the bottom. There are those out there who might land there drone in the dirt or grass and I’d imagine that even with this cover here, some of that dirt could be kicked up into these ports. It makes it even more concerning that this cover here is held on by one little small piece of rubber. If for some reason this comes off then now these parts are exposed permanentlyI do like and am surely a fan of the quick release props you get with the Air 3. Unlike the Mini 3 Pro’s props, these are easier to remove and replace at a moments notice which make it so that you can get back to flying much fasterAll in all it really is crazy just how much this feels like a Mavic 3 but smaller and less of hassle to carry around with all of its accessoriesControllerAs it stands right now, the Air 3 can on be operated with one of two controllers. The RC-N2 and the DJI RC 2. I got this with the RC-2 and the experience has been exceptional compared to the original RC, then the biggest difference you’ll notice immediately is the speed of operation with the controller. Everything from turning it on to switching cameras and other parts of operation is just overall significantly faster than the original RCYou also have the extended antennas now which do make for a more stable signal experience in even the most congested environments. One change that has been made is that you no longer have the protective cover on the bottom of and you only get one Usb Type C port to work with.Though the extra port has been taken away, functionality has been added in the form of now being able to connect the RC 2 to a computer and you now have video out over type C for those moments when you want to show the content you’ve captured on a bigger screen.Camera and GimbalThe camera is where the Air 3 starts to take on aspects of the Mini 3 series. There are a lot of opinions about the cameras on the Air 3 but one thing for sure is that either way you slice it, the quality of these cameras has been upgraded and having 2 cameras is always better than one.Dual camerasThe Air 3 has a dual camera set up and both of its camera sensors are the same size as the sensor in the Mini 3 series. This might scare some people away, especially those that had the Air2s or already have one of the Mini 3 series but if you take a closer look then you’ll see that improvements were indeed made. The Air 3 may use the same sensors size as the Mini 3 for both of its cameras but those cameras are put together in what’s called a stacked sensor format which opens up capabilities like much faster image processing and overall better performance of these sensors. The advantage you get with the air 3 is a much better dynamic range in even the harshest of lighting and in the lowest of lighting . It also has the same aperture as the Mini 3 series at 1.7 for the main camera which means it takes in quite a bit of light to give your imagery that boost in quality3X cameraThis zoom camera is new to the Air series and does open up a new perspective since 3X zoom could be considered a more comfortable zoom length. It make things like getting a parallax easier and makes it so that you can stay a safe distance away from something you might want to capture with the drone but don’t want to get to close to. It’s definitely a more usable focal length compared to something like the 7X lens on the Mavic 3 which is really only usable in a handful of situations. I’m also impressed with the clarity of the image coming out of the 3x camera and am glad that DJI lets you apply manual controls when using it. The only thing I might’ve wished for is for it to have the same aperture as the main camera but the 2.8 aperture is just fine in the situations I’ve used this zoom camera in. Speaking of aperture, its something that still isn’t controllable of the Air 3 so if you need to do any long exposure photography or something similar you’ll need an ND filter of some sort.Vertical shootingThe Mini 3 PRO came with a vertical shooting mode and now this same mode comes to the Air 3 in a sense. While you can definitely get vertical imagery on the Air 3 it isn’t in 4K but rather 2.7K. This is because the cameras don’t physically rotate l like with the mini 3 series but rather the drone crops in to a specific part of what you’re shooting and makes a vertical image out of that. This might seem kind of weird but the idea here is that if you’re posting any of this imagery to social media, those platforms will lower that quality anyway. In this case it’s one of those things that’s better to have and not need than to need and not have.48 MP PhotosThe Mini 3 pro was the first drone that could create 48 megapixel photos. The Air 3 is now the second drone I’ve encountered that can also do this but notice how I said “create 48 megapixel photos” and this is because in reality, the camera sensors aren’t natively capable of taking photos at such a high resolution. The Air 3 like the Mini 3 uses quad Bayer coding to construct a 48 megapixel photo since both sensors are truly maxed out at 12Mp.It does seem like the 48 mega pixel mode has been improved with the Air 3. It looks like it correctly exposes thing rather than make them darker but nonetheless you most likely wont need to use this mode.GimbalIf you’re at all curious about this controllable range of the gimbal, the tilt range you get with the gimbal goes between 90 and 60 degrees which is right in line with the Mini 3 series. The panning range goes between 5 and 5 degrees. No 5kI’ve never owned an Air 2s but I do know that one feature people seemed to like a ton was the fact that it could achieve 5.4k footage. If this is important to you then you might want to be aware of the fact that the Air 3 can only achieve up to 4K footage.Obstacle AvoidanceWhen it comes to obstacle avoidance the Air 3 is the first in the Air series to come with full 360 degree obstacle avoidance. This is definitely a feature brought down from the Mavic 3 series and is surely a welcome one since you can rest a little easier knowing that your Air 3 will be able to see almost anything.Active TrackThe focustrack set of tools is one of the best features about DJIs drones and of course all 3 modes are here but Active track has seen an upgrade where you can set to follow you in basically any direction. This is of course due to that all new 360 degree obstacle avoidance that comes with the Air 3. I was able to test out the Air 3s new active track and found it to work well…..mostly. In my experience, the drone had a problem seeing some tree branches even when there were multiple close together. This came as a surprise to me since it my Mini 3 Pro (which only has front, back and bottom sensors) was able to avoid those same tree branches I was referring to with ease.waypointsAnother one of my absolute favorite features with my Mavic 3 is waypoints and I’m happy to say that the Air 3 is the first drone outside of the Mavic series that can use this amazing feature. If you’re not aware of what this is, it essentially allows you to plot an automated route either by doing so, location unseen or by moving the drone to the points you want it to be at and pressing a button to lock in that particular point. You can also adjust other parameters and have this all carried out automatically. Is just really nice to have and not have to spend at least $1500 to get.Vision TransmissionI definitely enjoy the 1080p 60fps feed I get with my Mavic 3 and now you can enjoy the same on the Air 3. O4 has carried this over and its something that just makes for a smoother flight experience IMO. Where O4 takes this farther is the fact that It can now transmit this feed quality over a longer distance. 20 kilometers at least in the US.In my test incase able to realistically get 9084ft away until I started to loose signal which is way under the claims made. This test was performed in a wide open area with nothing but the surrounding mountains so I’m not sure why I lost signal but it could have something to do with the thinner air in the areaWind resistanceThe Air 3 is rated to withstand winds of up to 12ms which is roughly 26.8 mph. In the test I did, the winds were at about 27mph and the air 3 held up well but did get moved around a bit. Needless to say, I wouldn’t fly this in winds over 70mph.BatteryOne of the things about using any drone is having to worry about battery life and I can definitely say that that is most likely not going to be the case with the Air 3. I own three batteries for both my Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 and use all of them almost always when I’m out shooting for a long time but with the air 3 I end up only using two at most. This thing has superb battery life for sure and it’s still amazes me no matter how many times I keep this it up in the air. For my battery test , I used activetrack and tried to drain the battery to its critical level. I was able to get a little older 30 mins using the feature which is pretty remarkable As a reminder, using a feature like activetrack doubles the battery usage since the drone has to do more processing and calculations so not using a feature like this would almost double your battery life.ConclusionWith all of that being said, the Air 3 is the drone I wish they came out with when I decided to get my first drone. You’ve probably seen a ton of videos hyping it up but in this case I think the hype if warranted. I’d say that aside from the Mini 3 pro, this is a great starter, intermediate or advanced UAV that gives you some of the most high end feature all while giving you that low end starting price. It’s unfortunate that purchasing this drone with the RC2 brings the price up so much but I personally think its worth having just to have that piece of mind in knowing that you have an all inclusive solution that’s going to allow you to focus on what really matters which is flying the drone. The addition of waypoints is also welcome and I’m glad more people can now get access to this feature without having to point the way to the bottom of their wallets.Of course there are other things like the 3X telephoto camera but that’s just an added bonus to an already gracious offering. All in all I would definitely say that if you decide to purchase the Air 3, you will not be disappointed in any way unless you require something with a bigger sensor like the micro 4/3 in the Mavic 3.

Top critical review

I originally bought a DJI Mini 4 but nearly all my videos at 4k 60/30/24 fps in normal, HLG and D-Log M resulted in video stuttering. In full auto and when setting the shutter to twice the frame rate (180 rule). The only setting that seemed to make any difference was setting the codec to H.264, from H.265, but even then it still happens just a little less frequently. Out of the dozens of videos I shot, only one was reasonable stutter wise.I tried refreshing the firmware (twice), clearing the cache (multiple times), using filters, flying in low wind, flying very slowly (faster ironically stutters less, you get proper blurring), trying all different movements to see if it’s only in certain movement conditions (no, but side to side is the worst), comparing results on different SD cards and internal memory.Low res and caches video shows less of the problem, but it’s also seen there.I figured with the Mini 4, due to all the troubleshooting and that it seemed a bit hot all the time it had to be dysfunctional. I returned it and got an Air 3, but it had all the same issues, just not running hot.I’m a novice when it comes to photography/video, but I’ve never had these sorts of issues. After talking to support they just wanted to have it sent in with no real troubleshooting requested other than resetting settings (which I had done multiple times) and refreshing the firmware. At this point I don’t want to risk being saddled with $1000+ products that simply won’t work properly. A very bad experience for a first time drone buyer, buying higher end consumer units.

First time buying a drone and have no experience using one. It was very easy and fun. The fact that there is a beginners mode so you don’t get overwhelmed of how high or how far it’s going was a big help in learning to use the controls. It has a good response time. Gps did good. It was breezy and it did fine. I wish the battery lasted longer, used all 15-20 minutes learning how to control it. The pictures were good for the value. (i’m not trying to read the date on a penny at 150ft.) Overall, when you combine all the other features that come with the HS360S, this drone is a great value.

Edit – upgrading my review, as I was contacted and offered a replacement drone at no charge by Holy Stone. I’m hoping that the new drone will function as expected but haven’t had the chance to take it up yet, as my time is very limited. The customer service people didn’t ask for me to adjust my review – I added two stars for their effort to make things right. Will revisit my review in the next 30 days and will add another star if this unit functions as it should.I bought this as my first drone with zero experience due to the claim that it is good for beginners. Straight out of the box, this drone was a disaster. You have to calibrate it every time you use it, and calibration takes multiple attempts to get it to work. Very unstable in the air and taking off success without it eating dirt was minimal. Support was close to non-existent. The app is crap. Half of the time it doesn’t connect to the drone. Unfortunately I waited a few weeks before I unboxed it, and thought that I was just doing things wrong, so the return window closed and I ended up stuck with it. After a couple of months of occasional re-trys to get it up in the air, I gave up due to pure frustration and purchased the DJI Mini 4 Pro, which I should have done in the first place. If you can’t afford a DJI, save up until you can, that’s my recommendation. Perfection right out of the box.

I ordered this for my son’s 10th birthday I received it oct 6th and gave it to him as soon as I got it, he was so excited but once he opened the drone case the Styrofoam fell off the right analog stick and we noticed the analog stick was missing and was stuck in the Styrofoam. he was so sad and upset that his drone that he has been waiting for finally came but was broken so he can’t even use it. I’m hoping to receive a replacement ASAP and hopefully the next one I get is not broken and I can make my sad kid happy again.

I recently bought the Bezgar drone and I had so much fun flying it.What’s in the box:The box came with a controller, drone, clip to hold your phone when watching the fpv, replacement blades and blade guards.Build:The body of the drone has a similar aesthetic to a number of other popular drones such as the DJI mavic which gives the drone a more premium feel. It’s wings fold up for easy travel. The drone itself is small, so you could easily fit it in a knapsack or purse.Flying:Generally I got 15 minutes per battery. it’s very convenient that two batteries are included in the box. The drone was pretty responsive to my actions. There is also a feature for the drone to automatically take off, and hover until you tell it where to go. This was a great feature that made the experience feel more premium.Camera:The drone provides fpv by pairing it to your phone but the quality isn’t great. I wouldn’t shoot a vlog or any footage on it, but it’s fun to get shots of your friends from cool angles. The camera could be moved manually 90 degrees which gives you a lot of creative freedom. There’s also a cool feature that if you hold up a peace sign, then the drone will automatically take a picture of you.Navigation:The drone has a 360 mode, but I couldn’t get it to work. This could be due to the wind, but I was able to do this move manually. There is also an option to do flips and the drone comes with three speeds. I found the fastest allowed me to fly even in windy weather, and the first level is best for a beginner to learn on.App and Controller:The app is easy to use and the controller fits comfortably in the hand.TLDR: This is a fun drone that will provide you tons of fun as you try to swerve out of the way of obstacles and try to get the perfect shot.
